1. SAFETY FIRST! EMERGENCY CONTACTS.

Do not risk your own safety or the safety of your trail running compadres by not adhering to Mandatory Items or by signing up to an event you have not properly trained for. We highly recommend all participants run the course at least once prior to race day. We always provide ample pre-GreenRace training sessions for our runners!

2. MANDATORY RACE ITEMS.

All runners have a responsibility to show up prepared for the unexpected on race day. Review all Mandatory Items to be carried during all GreenRace Events here.

3. BIB TRANSFERS.

Although we do not refund race entries under any circumstances, all entries are fully transferable within the same event up to 72 hours before race start.

  • No full or partial refunds permitted for any category changes, cancellations, or transfers.
  • SG$18 fee applies to all change requests.
  • Maximum one transfer per entry is permitted.
  • Request your bib transfer here.

4. CATEGORY CHANGES.

  • Solo (individual) downgrades to lower distance categories within the same event are permitted at no charge until the entry list is posted. After this, there will be charge of SG$18.
  • Solo upgrades to higher distance categories and team categories must pay the difference between the existing fee paid and the current cost of the new category. SG$18 applies to late changes.
  • Requests are accepted up to 72 hours prior to event start time.
  • No full or partial refunds permitted for any category changes, cancellations, or transfers.
  • A SG$18 fee may apply to some change requests at the discretion of the event event organiser and timing provider.
  • Transfers to other GreenRace events are not permitted under any circumstances.

5. COMMON COURTESY.

Yield to all hikers and trail walkers where safe to do so. Please show respect and courtesy to all users of our country park trails. Trail runners are not the only ones out there enjoying our country parks!:)

6. DISPUTES.

The Race Director has final decision in all disputes. Argumentative or aggressive runners will not be tolerated at GreenRace Events.

7. EXTERNAL SUPPORT NOT PERMITTED.

Outside of checkpoints / water stations, every individual participant and registered team must run self supported. Pace runners are not allowed. Runners are permitted to purchase food and beverages at shops along the course route.

8. INJURIES.

First Aid Station is located at the Registrations Tent for all GreenRace Events and will also be shown on the course map.

9. KEEP RIGHT.

Keep to the right on trails wherever safe to do so. Allow faster runners to pass on the left. Don’t put yourself in the way of faster trail traffic and needlessly contribute to trail running collisions / mishaps. Runners passing will warn by stating ‘On your left!’

10. LITTERING NOT PERMITTED.

Needless to say, take it with you! Runners found to have littered along the trail, whether intentional or not, will be disqualified.

11. REFUNDS NOT PERMITTED.

Although we do not refund race entries under any circumstances, all entries are fully transferable up to 72 hours before race start. Email reg@thegreenrace.sg and cc the runner you wish to transfer your registration to. Maximum one transfer per entry is permitted.

12. ROUTE CHANGES / AMENDMENTS.

ROUTES ARE +/- 10% OF ADVERTISED DISTANCE, SUBJECT TO AFCD APPROVAL AND MAY BE UPDATED PRIOR TO THE EVENT. RACE DIRECTOR RESERVES RIGHT TO AMEND COURSE AS PER AFCD REQUIREMENTS. RUNNERS WILL BE NOTIFIED OF FINAL APPROVED ROUTES VIA PRE-RACE EMAIL NO LESS THAN 10 DAYS PRIOR TO RACE DAY.

13. AGE OF MAJORITY. 

The following is our GreenRace policy for participants under the age of majority (18yrs of age) on race day:

      • Family Fun Run Categories
        • Ages 1yr+ permitted
        • Must be accompanied by at least one parent.
      • <5K Distance Categories (Must be at least 8yrs of age on race day)
        • 8 – 13yr children permitted, must start&finish with a Parent/Guardian, waiver required, child runs free of charge.
        • 13 – 17yr olds permitted to run alone, Parent/Guardian waiver required, solo or duo entries.
      • >5k – 15K Distance Categories (Must be at least 13 yrs of age on race day)
        • 13 – 16yr olds permitted, must start&finish with a Parent/Guardian, waiver required, solo/duo categories.
        • 16 – 17yr olds permitted to run alone, Parent/Guardian waiver required, solo/duo categories.
      • >15K Distance Categories (Must be at least 16yrs of age on race day)
        • 16 – 17yr olds permitted to run alone, Parent/Guardian waiver required, solo or duo entries.

14. SHORT CUTTING THE COURSE NOT PERMITTED.

Needless to say, runners found to be cutting the race course will be disqualified.

15. TIMING, STARTING & CUT-OFF TIMES.

The Racematix GreenRace reusable silicon timing band provided in your racepack must be visible at all times during the event and available for scanning at checkpoints. Return your timing band at the race finish and your deposit will be refunded.

      • Late runners will be allowed to start up to 15 minutes after official starting times. Runners showing up later than this will be marked as DNS (Did Not Start).
      • Cut-off times are generous for all GreenRace events allowing for up to 16 min/km average pace.
      • For safety reasons and due to the fact our events are still in fact RACES, we must enforce posted cut-off times for each event.
      • Runners not completing within the allotted cut-off times will be automatically marked as DNF (Did Not Finish) in the official race results.
      • It is the runners responsibility make their way back to the Start/Finish for bag collection if they DNF (runners must also carry a cell phone + Cash + Spare phone charger/battery).

16. STAY ON THE TRAIL.

The more we divert to the edge of our trails the more destruction we all cause to fragile mountain ecosystems. Think twice next time you’re running a high mountain trail that’s as wide as a road. It happens faster than you think! At current rates, what will the trail conditions be 10-20 years when future generations head out to enjoy our country parks? Don’t like concrete? Stay on the trail!

17. TEAMS AND PACERS

Teams: Male, Female and Mixed teams are available wherever ‘team’ is listed.

      • All teams must start together, scan in at each checkpoint together, and cross the finish line together.
      • Solo runners registering under team categories will be automatically disqualified.
      • Pacers are not permitted.

18. TREKKING POLES.

Thousands of hikers and runners use our country park trails annually. The more we disturb the soil on our trails, the more we contribute to erosion (especially when typhoon season comes around!). This forces the ‘concretisation’ of some of our favourite running routes! Please think twice before deciding to use poles at our GreenRace Events.

19. WEATHER CONDITIONS.

Be prepared for adverse weather! Check the weather forecast day before race and morning of the race here. The race will proceed as scheduled unless the inclement weather conditions arise or are in present within 30 minutes of the race start as listed on Singapore Observatory. In this event, the race may be postponed or cancelled with a decision made 30 minutes before race start. Entry fees are not refundable in the event of cancellation due to weather but transferable to any future GreenRace Event (NOTE: only a one time transfer is permitted).

20. BEST SPORTSMANSHIP.

Please be reminded to exercise good sportsmanship at all times and never leave a runner down! Help all injured runners by staying with them and calling/waiting for help to arrive.
